A new business development has officially opened.

Eight modern industrial units have been unveiled at Wealden Business Park in Crowborough, funded by Wealden District Council and located on council-owned land at the western end of Farningham Road.

Designed to boost the local economy, the units offer adaptable commercial space for manufacturing, storage, distribution and general business use.

Kelvin Williams, an Alliance for Wealden (Liberal Democrat) councillor and lead councillor for Public Health and Asset Management, said: "The completion of these units marks a significant step forward in supporting our local economy.

"This is about creating opportunities for businesses to grow, for new investment to come in and for local people to access more jobs and services close to home and this development is a clear sign of our commitment to a thriving future."

The units are strategically located with strong transport links to Kent and London, making them attractive to existing businesses and potential investors alike.

The opening event included a site tour and a ribbon-cutting ceremony, led by councillor Williams and councillor Rachel Millward, leader of Wealden District Council.

Attendees included councillors from both the town and district councils, members of the project design team, contractors and the president of the Crowborough Chamber of Commerce.

Jason Wellard, managing director at Now Construction, said: "We’re proud to have delivered industrial units that have sustainability at their heart. It’s fantastic to see this project come to life."

The scheme forms part of the council’s broader plans to stimulate economic growth across the district.
