A PEEBLES wellness studio has been recognised with an independent business award.

A Wee Retreat, based on High Street, was named Best Wellness Break at the Muddy Stilettos Scotland Awards 2026.

Suzi Gibson, founder of A Wee Retreat, said: “I was thrilled to bits. I didn’t realise I was nominated.

“It was quite stiff competition, and I was absolutely delighted to have won.”

The business has a studio in the town which offers yoga classes, day retreats and workshops, as well as longer retreats available in Perthshire.

Ms Gibson has worked in the wellbeing industry for 20 years and aims to offer customers an intimate setting to allow them to relax, with people from all over the world attending her retreats.

The awards are free to enter and are voted for by members of the public.

Hero Brown, founder and editor-in-chief of Muddy Stilettos, said: “I set up these awards 13 years ago to give local lifestyle indies a chance to shine.

“It’s been an honour to showcase these most creative, innovative lifestyle businesses across Scotland.

“The response to this year’s Muddy Awards has been incredible with thousands voting to support an amazing array of local businesses big and small.”

Winners have been invited to a drinks reception in Glasgow, where they will be presented with their awards in August.
