We asked for your views on which free agents Nottingham Forest could target this summer and whether there is one player they are linked with but you hope they never sign.

Matt: Kamada in centre midfield might be a start to filling the Anderson hole and Glasner likes him too. Constant talk of Fratessi - really bad fit for the Premier League and simply not good enough to stand out in Serie A.

Daniel: I didn't realise that Kamada was available on a free! In considering which players Glasner might bring with him to Forest, I'd thought that Kamada would suit as a realistic option. He played more often than not as one of the two deeper central midfielders in the 3-4-2-1 formation that Glasner employed at Palace, and could move to join his gaffer again, with the two having worked together at Eintracht Frankfurt previously.

While I think that Nico Dominguez can fill the gap that Anderson vacates in our midfield, the club will want another body to replace him, so it could be a very sensible bit of business for Glasner to bring Kamada with him - a player who knows just what our soon-to-be new manager wants. A low-key, low-risk option to save us splurging an inflated transfer fee on another up-and-comer.

Kris: Of those 15 players listed as free agents, I wouldn't sign any of them. They're either too old, too injury prone or too expensive to make their signing worthwhile. We've been linked with just about everyone, but one name that crops up a lot is Davide Frattesi. Not for me, our history with Italian players isn't great (Silenzi anyone?!) and we don't need him - we have MGW and McAtee who both play in his position.

Jonathan: Stones on a free maybe if his wage demands were realistic. Salah...nope.

Lufbrarunner: James Rodriguez, Luka Modric and John Stones, would be formidable, but unlikely signings. We just have to trust that the management team get it right and stabilise the club's position in the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest don't want to be FA Cup semi-final losers like they were under Nuno Espirito Santo, League Cup semi-final losers like they were under Steve Cooper, or Europa League semi-final losers like they were under Vitor Pereira.

They want the next thing and Oliver Glasner clearly has shown he is capable of doing that by beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final and going on to win the Community Shield.

Then after the controversy between Forest and Crystal Palace about which European competition each would be in, going on to win the Conference League last season despite halfway through it having expressed his kind of upset with the hierarchy. That was a bit like Nuno did with Evangelos Marinakis at Forest and that cost him his job.

So as we go through the years - because we're talking about long-term according to the quotes from Glasner - it might not all be harmonious, because clearly this is a guy that is prepared to speak his mind. But, what it might do, is bring some silverware.

They've had their eye on him for a little while. They almost appointed him at one stage after Steve Cooper but went with Nuno instead. So Marinakis has long been an admirer of Glasner and it's felt that now is the right time both for him and for Forest to, as it says in the statement, take the club to the next level.

David: We need a good back-up goalkeeper, a quality midfielder to replace the departing Elliot Anderson and a new striker. Spend the money wisely as we have a good squad ready for the next steps in our journey.

Nick: The highest priority should be identifying which players fit his system and which ones do not. I hope he comes with a list of players he wants to sign also. There's only seven weeks until the season starts and the players need to adapt.

Tim: We need a new key midfielder to replace Anderson. Another goalkeeper, probably a first-choice one if Matz Sels leaves. Hopefully replace Morato too.

John: Number one - secure the commitment of Morgan Gibbs-White. Two - attract a proven goalscorer. Three - buy a couple of young midfielders with potential. Four - see if we can get back Anthony Elanga at a discount. Happy new season!

Oliver Glasner arrives at the City Ground with winning pedigree but is he putting his reputation on the line?

As the fifth head coach at Nottingham Forest since September, his decision to walk into the managerial graveyard that is the City Ground, can be viewed as risky.

Having won the Conference League and FA Cup with Crystal Palace, Glasner's stock is high - but given the changes in the past year, how long will that give him if results and performances do not meet owner Evangelos Marinakis' expectations?

There is no European football at Forest next season so fewer distractions will enable Glasner to settle and mould the squad, but that does not mean there is no pressure.

Predecessor Vitor Pereira lasted 133 days. Before him, Sean Dyche was in charge for 114 days - and he came after Ange Postecoglou had managed just 39.

Nuno Espirito Santo was dismissed just three games into last season after falling out with the club's hierarchy following a successful 21-month reign.

Nuno criticised the speed of their transfer business last summer, fell out with global sporting director Edu and revealed his relationship with Marinakis had deteriorated.

Glasner himself is no stranger to disagreements with ownership, saying he felt he and his squad were "abandoned completely" by Palace's hierarchy in January, which came after he revealed he would leave Selhurst Park.

This new relationship, therefore, could also be combustible.

Marinakis will demand Glasner repeats his Palace success at Forest, but the Austrian also has to bring the stability they desperately need.

If anybody thought it was going to be a normal summer at Nottingham Forest, then they weren't really paying attention. It turns out Vitor Pereira, who arrived in February with a contract until next summer, had a clause allowing either party to end it before the end of June.

Given that the rumoured new contract for Pereira in May hadn't emerged, with further rumours of a move to Saudi Arabia, it did beg the question: what's going on?

Well, Oliver Glasner was the answer. In some ways it's understandable - numerous top managers were available this summer and while it seemed as though Forest had accidentally found themselves a head coach for the near-future, but it was not a long-term plan by design.

Who's to know what would have happened with Pereira - he certainly earned his chance at a full season. Picking up the pieces of two disastrous managerial appointments, the Portuguese steered us to Premier League safety and a Europa League semi-final. And he did it with grace, charm and humility.

However, Glasner is a proven winner and took Crystal Palace to hitherto unseen heights. A Europa League trophy with Eintracht Frankfurt, an FA Cup with Palace and last season's Conference League is quite the record.

The strange beef between the two clubs will no doubt continue now, although ultimately Palace's Uefa demotion saw them clinch a European trophy and we haven't exactly poached an incumbent manager.

There is a fear that Glasner has a habit of falling out with club hierarchies - and Evangelos Marinakis will not take kindly to a manager who thinks he calls the shots. But equally, the owner wants the club to have a winning mentality - which is precisely why he's brought in Glasner.

As usual, Forest are box office - even if it's just for the controversy.

So, Oliver Glasner has now been confirmed as the new Nottingham Forest head coach - and we want to know what his first priorities should be.

He has said his "immediate focus" is on meeting the players and staff and "getting to work" as pre-season begins but added that his aim is to take the Reds "to the next level", and owner Evangelos Marinakis has described the Austrian as "the right person to lead us into this next chapter".

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis believes the Reds share the same desire for success as Oliver Glasner and that he is the right person to lead them into their "next chapter".

Glasner arrives at the City Ground having won both the FA Cup and Conference League with Crystal Palace.

Marinakis told the club's website: "In our discussions with Oliver, it was clear that we share the same vision, the same ambition and the same relentless desire to succeed.

"He has consistently demonstrated throughout his career that he can build outstanding teams and deliver success against the strongest competition.

"It has always been our goal to establish Nottingham Forest once again among the leading clubs in England and Europe. Our ambition is not simply to compete – our ambition is to win, to challenge for major honours and to create a football club that our supporters can be proud of for many years to come.

Nottingham Forest head coach Oliver Glasner says the "trust and shared commitment" with the club's hierarchy and "potential within the squad" were key factors in taking the job.
