Throughout 2025 and 2026 we will be running 'GET IN' TASTER EXPERIENCES across BBC bases the length and breadth of the UK.

We’d love to hear from you if a job in the media industry is something you think you might like, but just don’t know how or where to start looking!

Our 'GET IN' TASTER EXPERIENCES  are designed to show you what opportunities are on offer and to support you with the next steps you need to take to GET IN to the BBC.

Many of the sessions are for students aged 16-18, but we will also have Taster Days for over 18s, career changers and school groups. Please select this link to our expression of interest form to register your interest for the BBC location that is nearest to you or most easily reached. Please note, although we’ll make every effort to visit a base near you, we cannot guarantee that a 'GET IN' TASTER EXPERIENCE will be held at every site.

Once we have a confirmed date for your chosen base, we will contact you and ask you to complete a separate application form.

To avoid disappointment, please check the criteria below to make sure you are eligible.

ELIGIBILITY FOR STUDENTS AGED 16-18

  • 'GET IN' TASTER EXPERIENCES will be for groups of either 16 & 17-year-olds, or 17 & 18-year-olds.
  • You will have to let your school/college know that you’ve applied (and provide us with the name and contact details of a member of staff). For those aged 16 to 18 and not in school you are still eligible to apply, and we may ask for further relevant details.
  • You must have full permission and consent from your parent / guardian to apply (we will need to ask you for their contact details if you’re selected to take part).
  • For safeguarding reasons, if you are 16-18 and still in education, your home address must be within a 1-hour commute of the BBC location you have selected.

ELIGIBILITY FOR OVER 18S (WHO HAVE FINISHED COMPULSORY EDUCATION)

  • We ask that you do not have previous significant work experience in the media industry. There is no upper age limit or other eligibility criteria.

OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION

  • The in-person 'GET IN' TASTER EXPERIENCES  will run from approximately 9:30am – 3:30pm
  • You will need to be able to make your own way to the location. If you have any concerns about travel, please still apply and we will discuss these with you
  • You may be required to bring your own lunch
  • Due to the number of places available, candidates will be chosen at random and, where required, we may have to limit the number of participants of students from the same school.
